Summer Camps

Camp CHAoS 2026

Since 2016, Calgary Apraxia has provided a unique summer experience exclusively for children with motor planning speech disorders. Our camps are not traditional therapy sessions; instead, they are a space for personal growth and "empowered socialization". Campers exercise their speech abilities among peers who truly understand their communication challenges through play-based activities led by Speech-Language Pathologists and experienced professionals.

    Frequently Asked Questions

2026 camps are located at the Bridgeland Riverside Community Association. Some days may have a different location for drop-off/pick-up depending on the age group's scheduled outings. Specific location details will be provided to registered families prior to the camp start date.

    • Footwear: Both indoor and outdoor shoes.
    • Clothing: A full change of clothes and a hat.
    • Sun Protection: Sunscreen.
    • Nutrition: A water bottle, plus food and snacks. Full-day campers require a lunch and two snacks, while half-day campers (Ages 3–4) require snacks.

Generally, we have approximately 12 campers in each camp session. Groups are highly supported by a professional team including a Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist and 1–2 Aides per room.

While our camps are primarily reserved for children with confirmed or suspected Apraxia (CAS) or Motor Planning Disorders, we do open our Age 3–4 programs to children with severe speech sound delays (including phonological and articulation delays). All children in this age group still require a letter from their Speech-Language Pathologist stating that a severe speech sound delay is their primary communication challenge.

For any camp-related or registration questions, please contact us at camp@calgaryapraxia.ca. For sponsorship inquiries and forms, you may also email info@calgaryapraxia.ca.
