Children receiving government funding such as PUF or children who have been assessed with a Code 44, 47 or 48 will have IPPs during the school year within Alberta Education.

  • Collaborative document involving parents, teachers and support personnel
  • Addresses specific needs of the child
  • Helps monitor and evaluate and educational program and progress
  • Summary of accommodations and modifications that will help the child learn more effectively
  • A guide for transition planning
  • Generally done before or at the beginning of the school year, updated throughout the year (either once or twice) and summarized at the end of the school year. Each update requires a parent or guardian's involvement and approval
